Cisco ACI Engineer

We are looking for a Cisco ACI engineer to join a highly specialized technical team for an important client based in Rome, a world leader in the networking sector.

The resource will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Cisco ACI infrastructures, ensuring performance, scalability, and integration with other networking components in enterprise environments.

🎯 What you’ll do:

✅ Design, deploy, and maintain Cisco ACI infrastructure for enterprise data centers
✅ Configure and troubleshoot Cisco ACI fabric components (APIC, Nexus 9000 switches, routers)
✅ Translate business and technical requirements into detailed network design specifications
✅ Implement ACI constructs such as tenants, application profiles, endpoint groups, and contracts
✅ Perform capacity planning and network optimization activities
✅ Conduct performance analysis and proactive troubleshooting
✅ Integrate Cisco ACI with security devices, load balancers, and other infrastructure components
✅ Support junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the team
✅ Stay current with Cisco ACI trends, technologies, and best practices

✨ Required skills:

🔹 3–5 years of experience designing and supporting Cisco ACI solutions in enterprise environments
🔹 In-depth knowledge of Cisco ACI architecture (APIC, Nexus 9000, ASR 9000)
🔹 Strong understanding of fabric policies, microsegmentation, and access controls
🔹 Familiarity with TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VXLAN
🔹 Knowledge of data center networking (HA, disaster recovery, load balancing)
🔹 Solid troubleshooting skills for complex network environments
🔹 Awareness of security technologies (VPN, firewalls, IDS/IPS)
🔹 Excellent communication and collaboration skills
🔹 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience

✨ Nice to have:

✔ Cisco certifications (CCNP Data Center, CCIE Data Center)
✔ Practical experience with security integration in ACI environments
✔ Familiarity with automation in ACI environments (Python, Ansible, etc.)
✔ Willingness to occasionally travel, if required
